 देश के महान शासक हुए छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज का जन्म19 फ़रवरी को हुआ था। गुरिल्ला युद्ध शैली के जनक के तौर पर उनको जाना जाता है।  19 फरवरी 1630 में शिवनेरी दुर्ग में शिवाजी जन्मे. शिवाजी एक महान देशभक्त होने के साथ ही कुशल प्रशासक थे. उन्होंने साल 1670 में मुगलों की सेना से लोहा लिया था और सिंहगढ़ के किले पर अपना परचम लहराया था. 1674 में उन्होंने ही पश्चिम भारत में मराठा साम्राज्य की नींव रखी थी. वहीं इस दिन देश के महान स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, विचारक और सुधारक गोपाल कृष्ण गोखले का निधन हुआ था। नरम दल के नेता गोपाल कृष्ण गोखले गांधीजी के राजनीतिक गुरु थे।

• 1: 19 फरवरी के दिन साल 1389 में सुल्तान गयासुद्दीन तुगलक द्वितीय की घातकी हत्या दिल्ली में कर दी गई।
• 2: फ्रांसीसी सेना की मदद की सहायता से आज ही के दिन 19 फरवरी को साल 1570 में एंजाऊ के ड्यूक ने साउथ नीदरलैंड पर भीषण हमला किया, जिसमें कई लोग घायल हुए और सैकड़ों लोगों की मौत हुई।
• 3: लंबे समय से चले आ रहे वेनिस और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के बीच का युद्ध वर्ष 1618 में 19 फरवरी के दिन तब समाप्त हुआ। जब दोनों देशों के बीच वेनिस शांति संधि हुई, इस प्रकार दोनों ही देशों ने युद्धविराम को करने की घोषणा की।
• 4: लंबे समय तक डच युद्ध में शामिल रहे, ब्रिटिश गवर्नमेंट की फौज साल 1674 में 19 फरवरी के दिन युद्ध से पीछे हट गई।
• 5: साल 1719 में 19 फरवरी के दिन फर्रुख सियर की हत्या कर दी गई। बता दे कि यह एक मुगल शासक थे।
• 6: ब्रिटिश गवर्नमेंट के आदेश पर ब्रिटिश सेना साल 1807 में रसिया की सहायता करने के लिए इस देश में पहुंची। बता दे कि तब रसिया और तुर्की का आपस में युद्ध चल रहा था। इसी युद्ध में रसिया का साथ देने के लिए ब्रिटिश सेना पहुंची थी।
• 7: साल 1878 में फोनोग्राफ का पेटेंट अपने नाम पर थॉमस एडिसन ने 19 फरवरी को करवाया था।
• 8: साल 1891 में 19 फरवरी के दिन दैनिक प्रकाशन के तौर पर अमृत बाजार पत्रिका का प्रकाशन आरंभ हुआ।
• 9: जब दूसरा विश्व युद्ध चल रहा था, तब वर्ष 1942 में जापानी लड़ाकू विमान ने उत्तरी ऑस्ट्रेलिया के डार्विन शहर पर भीषण बमबारी की, जिसमें 200 से भी अधिक लोग मारे गए थे और कई इमारतों को नुकसान हुआ था तथा कई लोग घायल भी हुए थे।
• 10:साइप्रस की स्वतंत्रता को लेकर के तुर्की,ब्रिटेन और यूरोप के बीच एक समझौता हुआ, जो कि साल 1959 में किया गया था।
• 11: साल 1963 में क्यूबा से अपने काफी अधिक सैनिकों को हटाने के लिए सोवियत संघ मान गया।
• 12: आज ही के दिन यानी कि 19 फरवरी को साल 1978 में पंकज मलिक का निधन हो गया था। बता दे कि पंकज मलिक हमारे  देश के बांग्ला और हिंदी फिल्मों के प्रसिद्ध सिंगर, म्यूजिसियन और एक्टर थे।
• 13: कंप्यूटर द्वारा रेलवे टिकट को निकालने की शुरुवात 18 फरवरी के दिन साल 1986 में पहली बार इंडिया में चालू हुई थी।
• 14: हैतो के पास एक समुद्री जहाज डूबने के कारण तकरीबन 1500 लोगों की मौत हो गई थी। बता दे कि यह जहाज साल 1993 में हैतो के समुद्र में डूब गया था।
• 15: आज ही के दिन भारत के पड़ोसी देश चाइना में साल 1997 में डेंग शियाओपिंग की मौत हो गई थी। बता दे कि यह ऐसे व्यक्ति थे जिन्होंने चाइना देश में आर्थिक सुधारों को चालू करने की शुरुआत की थी।
• 16: प्रकाश की स्पीड को धीमा करने में आज के दिन डॉक्टर लेन वेस्टेर्गार्ड ने सफलता हासिल की थी। बता दे कि यह घटना साल 1999 में हुई थी और डॉक्टर डेनमार्क देश के निवासी थे।
• 17:: संयुक्त राष्ट्र का 189वां मेंबर बनने में तूवालू ने साल 2000 में सफलता हासिल की।
• 18: साल 2000 में मिस्र के राष्ट्रपति ने 19 फरवरी के दिन ही लेबनान का दौरा किया था। उस टाइम मिस्र देश के राष्ट्रपति हुस्नी मुबारक थे।
• 19: साल 2001 में ब्राजील देश की जेल में भीषण दंगे हुए थे। इस भीषण दंगे में 8 लोगों की मौत हो गई थी। बता दें कि इस दंगे में तकरीबन 7000 लोगों को कैदियों ने अपनी कस्टडी में ले लिया था।
• 20: साल 2001 में ही तालिबान लादेन के समर्पण के लिए तैयार हो चुका था।
• 21: साल 2003 में सऊदी अरेबिया ने दाऊद इब्राहिम के भाई इकबाल शेख और इकबाल शेख के साथी एजाज पठान को भारत को समर्पित कर दिया। इसके बाद भारत ने उन पर कार्रवाई की।
• 22: साल 2006 में 19 फरवरी के दिन ही
• हत्फ़ द्वितीय नाम की मिसाइल का सफल परीक्षण पाकिस्तान ने किया था।
• 23: साल 2008 में 19 फरवरी के दिन क्यूबा के राष्ट्रपति फिदेल कास्त्रो ने क्यूबा के राष्ट्रपति के पद को छोड़ दिया। उनके द्वारा क्यूबा के राष्ट्रपति के पद को छोड़ने के बाद उनके भाई ने राष्ट्रपति की सत्ता संभाली।
• 24: साल 2012 में 19 फरवरी के दिन मैक्सिको के न्यूवो लियोन की एक जेल में काफी भीषण दंगे हो गए थे। इस भीषण दंगे में 44 लोगों की मौत हो गई थी।
• 25: साल 1473 में निकोलस कॉपरनिकस पैदा हुए थे। बता दें कि निकोलस कॉपरनिकस यूरोप देश के फेमस खगोल शास्त्री और मैथमेटिशियन थे।
• 26: साल 1630 में मराठा साम्राज्य के ताकतवर शासक छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज का जन्म जुन्नर में 19 फरवरी को हुआ था। इन्होंने आगे चलकर के विशाल मराठा साम्राज्य की स्थापना की थी।
