This year Samsung has been extremely busy with its Galaxy A series lineup. The company has introduced not less than eight smartphones within the first half of the year, and it’s not stopping there. The Korean giant seems to be gearing up for the next round of Galaxy A series smartphone to be released in the coming months. And now an unannounced Samsung smartphone with model number SM-A307FN has surfaced on the benchmarking site Geekbench. While the identity of the handset remains a mystery, speculations are rife that it could be the Galaxy A30s smartphone.

As the name suggests, the Galaxy A30s will be an incremental upgrade to the Galaxy A30 (review). Going by the Geekbench listing, the handset is said to arrive with the 14nm Exynos 7904 octa-core chipset, which is the same as the Galaxy A30. The SoC will be paired with 3GB of RAM, helping the handset crack 1,322 points in the single-core test and 4,116 points in the multi-core test. On the software side of things, the phone will reportedly boot Android 9 Pie out of the box.

While the core hardware specs of the Galaxy A30s are similar to the regular A30 smartphone, the handset may come with an upgrade in other departments such as camera, battery, display or storage. To recall, the Galaxy A30 ships with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display that bears Full HD+ resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection up top.

Apart from the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant, the phone also comes with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage option. For photography, there are dual cameras at the back with 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel setup on the rear. The front camera features a 16-megapixel snapper with an f/2.0 aperture on the front for selfies and video calling. A 4,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support fuels the Galaxy A30.
